Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 13, 2026
Glimbook and Glimbook Kids ("the Service") respect your privacy. This policy applies to both apps, the public website, subscriber server features, and the community gallery.
1. Information We May Collect or Process
- Account information: If you use Google Sign-In or Google Drive backup, we process your email address, profile name, and authentication tokens.
- Purchase and entitlement information: We process purchase status, subscription tier, anonymous subscriber identifiers, entitlement tokens, and redeem-code status through app stores, RevenueCat, and Glimbook services.
- User content: We may process imported documents, sentences, images, OCR results, AI analysis text, gallery document bundles, thumbnails, titles, tags, reviews, nickname, and avatar when you choose those features.
- Learning data: Reading positions, highlights, notes, handwriting, vocabulary, quiz results, review state, badges, and settings are stored in the app.
- Voice and audio data: The adult app may process microphone input, target sentence text, and TTS requests for speaking practice or speech features. Glimbook Kids release builds do not expose offline speaking practice or request microphone permission by default.
- Diagnostics: The adult app may use Firebase Crashlytics for crash diagnostics. Glimbook Kids disables Crashlytics collection to protect children’s data.
- API keys: BYO-API keys entered by the user are stored in secure storage on the device. If used, selected text may be sent to the external AI provider chosen by the user.
2. Purposes
- Provide reading, AI analysis, translation, vocabulary, quiz, game, TTS, and handwriting features
- Verify subscriptions, redeem codes, usage limits, and Pro/Subscriber entitlements
- Provide Google Drive backup, restore, and sync
- Operate gallery upload, download, review, and profile features
- Fix errors, improve performance, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability
3. External Services and Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Data may be transmitted or processed through the following services to provide user-selected features.
- Google Drive / Google Sign-In: Used when you choose backup, restore, or sync.
- RevenueCat / app-store billing: Used to verify purchases and subscriptions. Payment details are processed by Apple or Google.
- Glimbook Server / Cloudflare: Used for subscriber AI analysis, image generation, usage checks, gallery upload/download/reviews, and redeem-code verification.
- AI providers: Text, image prompts, and reanalysis requests may be sent to the server AI provider or BYO-API provider you choose.
- TTS providers: If you choose cloud TTS, sentence text and voice settings may be sent to the selected provider.
- Firebase Crashlytics: Used in the adult app for crash diagnostics.
4. Children’s Privacy
Glimbook Kids may be used by children. The child experience does not show ads, and parent-only features are separated by parent mode and a guardian PIN. The app is designed not to use children’s data for marketing. External features such as Google login, backup, gallery, subscriptions, and server AI are intended to be managed by a parent or guardian.
5. Storage and Security
- Most reading and learning data is stored locally on your device.
- Local backup files and Google Drive backups are created, stored, and deleted by the user.
- Gallery document bundles, thumbnails, metadata, and reviews may be stored on the server and storage provider.
- AI requests may be processed by Glimbook servers or by the AI provider selected by the user.
- Data in transit uses HTTPS. API keys and entitlement tokens are handled through device secure storage or server-side secrets where possible.
6. User Rights and Deletion
- You can delete local data by uninstalling the app or using in-app reset features.
- You can delete Google Drive backup files from your own Google Drive.
- You can request deletion of gallery profiles, uploads, reviews, redeem/subscription entitlement identifiers, and related server records by emailing [email protected].
- See Account and Data Deletion for instructions.
7. Google API Limited Use Disclosure
Glimbook’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
